......... My Wet Morning With Pat......
This morning I went to the free breakfast.Well it rained on and off most the morning.. Actually it was more of a constant drizzle but I pretty much got soaked all the way through..
In line I stood behind Pat. I have known him for awhile.. We ain't friends, but know each other.. Well I had a rain poncho on me so i gave it to him...We talked while we waited.. It was wet and cold and we waited about 20 minutes to get oatmeal and orange and a cup of coffee and by the time we got our food we are both soaked.. The difference is I get to go change into dry clothes and warm up.. Pat is not so lucky.. He will be outside all day wet and in the cold..Right now there are no "Drop in centers" open for him to go to and warm up..
So he will walk around all day looking for a dry place to sit down. At lunch he will stand in line again waiting to get a meal. Hopefully it is a warm meal.. If he is lucky there won't be no rain.. But since it is Saturday that will be his last meal of the day because there isn't any night time meals that I know of..
So that is what the new year has for Pat.. A cold wet Saturday with a free breakfast.. Now he gets to wander around cold and wet with no hope of getting to be indoors dry and warm..
