After endless reports by neighbors of sheriff's deputies continuously stalking the south valley sanctuary property of Oklevueha Native American Church Kautantowit's Mecautea (ONAC KM), located in north Douglas county, Oregon just 4 miles from the county border, word came in from neighbors that they witnessed an actual foot pursuit attempted upon church president Timothy Paul 'Talq-Talq' Timm yesterday near to the sanctuary property.
According to an elderly neighbor, Timm was called upon by the elder to assist him physically with some things too heavily packed for him to move. The elderly man reports that the county sheriff has essentially "Run me out of town because of my association with the ONAC KM church." Though the elder is not officially a member of ONAC, ONAC KM leaders acknowledge offering help such as this to non-member neighbors without the expectation or obligation of becoming a member of the church. The elder states that he would love to be a member of the church, but fears the "heat" that so obviously is on it from local officials.
A witness states having seen Timm walking toward the mans property when suddenly a Douglas County Sheriff's patrol car sped onto the scene. Before the witness says he could figure out what could be possibly going on in the otherwise peaceful neighborhood, it quickly became apparent that it was to do with Timm and the church. "The officer jumped out of his car and actually tried to physically catch Timm" the witness said, "But he never caught up with him to catch him." The man reports that "Once the cop jumped back in his car, he immediately went up to the church driveway, parking in the driveway, but, never seemed to actually get physically out of the car, he just sat there a good 7-10 minutes and then finally sped off and away."
Currently there is no legal reason for Douglas County sheriff nor any other police department to be attempting to chase nor capture Timm, nor to be hovering around the sanctuary property, but as church leaders say, "There never has been in all the years they continue to do so." Church leaders for ONAC KM state that they believe this is merely a continuation of the escalated irritation state and federal officials are feeling at the laxation in law against their sacred plant cannabis, intensified greatly by the fact that the church has taken the official position of "Idle no more" when it comes to law enforcers infringing upon they and their members individual as well as collective rights, liberties and freedoms. They also emphasize that this is "Not the first time, nor likely the last we will endure before it's all said and done."

Sachem Graves of the church says that this harassing behavior began in 2005 at the property by DCSO when they first discovered that cannabis was being legally cultivated for medicinal purpose. "In 2009 they discovered that I was in close association with legendary cannabis activist Jack Herer and made it clear to me they wanted neither of us or our plant anywhere in their county and that if we continued, we would have nothing but problems from them." Graves says, when the property was then declared church sanctuary land less than a year later - under the RLUPIA law of 2000 and her ordainment into The United Cannabis Ministries, the sheriff's department's attention and harassment excelled to the point that formal complaints of harassment, stalking etc. began to be filed against them in effort of backing them off, something Graves says she has yet to see or have them do, with the exception of the spring of 2014.

"In December 2012 when Lane County deputies beat Timm severely because of our activism in the defense and for the liberation of cannabis, I had enough" Graves said. "I hired an attorney name Steven McCarthy to represent Timm and file suit on them for it, which was filed, but McCarthy dropped the ball, and ultimately they got away with it... now they think they can get away with anything, but what will ultimately be made clear to them is that they cannot and too, that we Will Not let them, especially now as Oklevueha Native American Church - we are a civil rights church for crying out loud, we cannot allow nor condone tolerance when it comes to their infringing on the rights of the peoples of this land period, and we won't."
"After the first FBI complaint was filed, they went into a meltdown and Really started targeting us, but, by the filing of the third one, they actually vanished and went unseen for monthes" Graves said, "Of coarse too, within 30 days of the third filing is when Grant County Oregon pounced on our Central Eastern Oregon sanctuary", an action Graves notes that even the deputy director of the Oregon ACLU quickly concluded was "obvious retaliation" against the church stating "Oregon has a sheriff's association and you can bet you and your church were the topic of their monthly meeting discussions." Unfortunately for Graves and ONAC, the Oregon ACLU was in process of shutting down their major offices in Eugene and Portland due to lack of funds. "They offered to help us but said they didn't have any money too or they would, but wished us luck."

Timm was arrested by DCSO on Febuary 13th 2016 and charged with domestic assault 4 and domestic harassment from an incident claimed to have happened July 15th 2014 and naming none other than church sachem Joy Graves as the alleged victim. "They are out of their Minds" Graves snapped "I have Never had to call upon them to help me with a situation between Mr. Tim or myself and quite frankly I Resent the entirety of this blantant abuse of power and authority in which they are operating shinanigans such as this calling it a legal system and they seekers of Justice." Graves insists that even if she found herself in need of assistance of such nature she would Never call upon Douglas County Sheriff's office and expect any sort of help or productive assistance from them. "When I was physically assaulted by a girl who broke out car windows and tried pursuing legal action DCSO did nothing to the girl, same as when our medicine man went missing last summer, they ignored missing person and attempt to locate filings and only came out long enough to make it appear to media they were sincerely interested in helping us... soon as media eyes left, so did they and it was we who got the local media's help finding him, not theirs!"
Graves says she is beyond livid as well as disgusted by the entire legal system of government in Douglas County, and about fed up with the entire state as a whole. "I have gone all the way up to the governor's office Countless times seeking help in getting these officials off our backs but so far - nada."
Kandie Martinez of the counties DA Victim services has attempted to make contact with Graves seeking help in turning the charges against Timm into Felonies opposed to the misdemeanors he currently is charged with, and are asking for a "Victim's impact statement" from Graves to present to the court as evidence in the case. "I would LOVE to present a Victim's impact statement to the court on this case... absolutely" Graves says with a smile "I would LOVE it to be read on court record how Disappointed I am in the fact that it's the Douglas County paid officials who continue to Victimize myself, Mr. Timm and our church members and property and have the court acknowledge all the victimization, suffering and duress THEY have put us through... I just doubt they would read it much less take any affirmative action to make it stop."
Timm is next scheduled to appear in Douglas County Circuit Court on April 13th at 8:30 AM at their main county courthouse in Roseburg, Oregon for a status check regarding this case pending against him and ultimately crippling the function of the church as well as endangering the persons and sanctuary properties purpose. "People turn to the church for comfort, safety and support, not to be harassed and victimized by law enforcers pretending to honorably do the job of protecting and serving as paid for." Attorney Matthew Pappas remains confident that ultimately this case will vaporize into the created steam in which it was created by county officials, and too, that the church has full intention of pursuing legal accountability and the assurance that the church will be victim no more to they nor Oregon or any states oppression before the years end. Time will tell, so please stay tuned for more information and updates as they arise.
