Regarding an incident from May 2016, elder member Michael Minter is seeking assault charges be filed against the man who assaulted him while trying to physically attack church leader Ms. Sachem Joy Graves while members were visiting another member in Salem, Oregon at the church members home.

The attacker, Dennis James Campbell, while in a drunken and pill-popping rage attempted to strike sachem Graves after church members repetedly insisted Campbell leave the church members property due to continued threats of violence to he and his family. "If Mike (Minter) hadn't pushed her (Graves) out of the way when he did she would have been hit hard in the face by Campbell" states an eye witness to the attack, "And being as small and unhealthy as she is, I don't think she would have taken the blow nearly as well as he (Minter) did."

Eye witness accounts all confirm that Campbell seemingly left the property several times after being told to leave by the home owner because he refused to attempt to contain himself. Witnesses say that at one pointCampbell seemed to have left long enough for property host Corey Busby to actually leave, but ultimately say Campbell returned in a rage and even stormed the wrong house thinking it was Busby's house while Busby wasn't there. Witnesses state that sachem Graves was asked to watch out for the home and remaining guests inside until he returned, concerned that Campbell might reappear and cause harm, which he did and ultimately put Graves into the line of Campbell's fury.

Graves says she and one member, Michael Minter, remained in the church vehicle in front of the Busby doorway when she saw Campbell coming enraged down the street. Multiple eye witnesses state that after the wrong house was stormed by Campbell, that as he aimed his sights on the Busby home is when Graves stepped out from the church vehicle and calmly verbally cronfronted the man asking that he "Please leave and give it a few days before coming back".

According to the witnesses, a second church member joined Graves in attempting to diffuse the anger of the enraged man by calmly begging him to leave, instead of honoring that request, Campbell began storming at her with fists drawn, ultimately leaving member Michael Minter no choice but to push Graves out of the way to avoid being punched by Campbell in the face, which ultimately led to Minter receiving the fist to his eye and a second to his jaw. Witnesses say that before Minter could prevent it, Campbell locked a grip onto Minter's hair and continued violently shaking Minter's head to the point that both men toffled to the ground, Campbell hitting the ground first on his back and Miner being pulled by his hair down with him.

"Mike (Minter) never hit the guy once, before or after they both hit the ground" report multiple eye witnesses, "All he did was try to deflect all the punches and kicks being thrown once they hit the ground while telling him to let go of his hair".

"I tried telling the police they were making a mistake, and that I was an eye witness to the entire situation. I told the officer that took Mike Minter that as soon as Campbell began swinging his fist at sachem Graves face, is when Mike pushed her out of the way of the impact which led to him getting punched in both the eye and jaw by Campbell. At first he acted as if he was willing to hear what I had to say, but when he asked me who I was and I identified myself as a youth delegate of the church, the officer told me that he "Didn't want to hear it, and walked away." said youth delegate Tyler Chillson, an eye witness to the entire ordeal who was a guest of the owners for the entire day. "Before Mike (Minter) could react to those punches, the guy (Campbell) locked his grip onto Minter's hair. Though he was begged several times by many including myself to release his grip of Mike's (Minter) hair and to just leave, but he refused and continued to punch as well as kick Minter until another church member interveined. (Busby)"

Police reports on file regarding the case note that the claimed victim himself never stated that Minter struck Campbell during the incident. Though Minter never struck the suspect, he has since been arraigned on misdemeanor assault three where Campbell is reflected as the victim of Minter, but Multiple eye-witnesses confirm that it was in fact Minter who was assaulted by Campbell, Not the other way around. Church members are very upset over the mis-justice and are demanding proper justice prevail via a complete dismissal of any charges against he and Busby.

Michael Minter, a professional martial arts expert never thought he would see the day he would have to pursue an assault claim against another, has since come to realize that in order to defend himself and his freedom that it's exactly what he would have to do. "All I did was what I have been trained to do since I was a young child and began studying self defense, which is to protect and defend myself as well as those around me who are unable to defend themselves, such as women like our sachem as well as elders and children in urgent need of protection in order to ensure their self preservation, now the state of Oregon would rather paint that I am an attacker and try to put me in prison for defending a terminally ill woman from being beaten by this guy, it's unbelievable." says Minter.

Since the arraignment, Minter has been informed that he is being formally charged with a Domestic Assault 4 and also Strangulation, neither of which he had done during the encounter, but in effort of defending himself, he ultimately has been left with no choice but to demand the attacker Dennis Campbell be formally charged with having assaulting him during the encounter. Minter is scheduled to be charged with the new charges August 19th in the Marion County Oregon courthouse.

Michael Minter, pictured here bottle feeding one of his twin baby's is in disbelief that the Oregon justice system is even involved in this situation, especially to the point of threatening him with criminal repercussions from it. "In my experience when a man picks a fight he is waiving his position as victim and putting himself into the position as aggressor - he tried to strike a woman, a frail and sickly woman who weighs 1/3 of what he weighed, I instinctually did what I'd like to think any man would have done which was to push her out of the way and take the strikes myself, and now I am being threatened by the state for it, it baffles me."

Minter is in process of instructing his court appointed counsel of his legal position and demanding proper justice be pursued regarding the incident. He and his family are planning an in-person visit with his counsel today at which time they and the church expect charges to be filed on Campbell for the assault. "If the state of Oregon truly seeks proper justice, charges will promptly be filed on Dennis Campbell for assaulting Mr. Minter and ultimately will drop the nonsence charges against he and our other church member Corey Busby, though beings the state of Oregon has been gunning and victimizing our church, I don't know if I can hold my breath in the believe that Justice will be sought as their goal, especially when it comes to our members being victimized" says sachem Graves. "I suppose today we shall see."
