ONAC KM Church Member files complaint with BAR
Oklevueha Native American Church Kautantowit's Mecautea of Oregon member Michael Minter filed a complaint this morning with the Oregon State BAR against court-appointed attorney Julia Ann Hyde of Salem for failing to do her job in the preperation of his Self-Defense case now pending in the Marion County Circuit Court in Salem, Oregon.
In his complaint, Minter notes having attempted to telephone communicate with Ms. Hyde "multiple times" and states that his messages requesting contact went and still remain unanswered. Additionally, Minter notes having attempted to see his attorney in-person but was told she was "Unavailable". Minter stated in the complaint that his attempts at electronic email communications did receive response from Ms. Hyde but that ultimately fizzled out as they instructed him to "Call" her office and "Make an appointment to meet" with her, something her companies office staff apparentlly refuse to do.
Michael Minter alleges that it was the presiding judge of the Marion County Circuit Court handling the case specifically appointed Julia Hyde as his court appointed counsel in regards to this case. Minter states that in addition to it being hand-written on the paperwork by the judge personally, that too, he has received a "Bill" from the Circuit Court instructing that he pay Ms. Hyde $405.00 as cost for her representing him throughout the duration of this case.
Because Ms. Hyde chooses to maintain her current law practice within the "Public Defenders of Marion County Inc." that it ultimately directed his ability to communicate with his court-appointed counsel via their companies staff. According to a receptionist in the company, they are refusing to schedule an appointment between Minter and Hyde "Because she is not your attorney anymore." Minter immediately contacted the court whose clerk reassured him that Ms. Hyde is "In fact you're attorney of record" and again he was advised by the court to direct his correspondence with Hyde as his legal counsel.
Minter states that ultimately he is more confused and concerned as to the disposition of his current case as within a few hours he is set to be arraigned on even more unsubstiantiated criminal charges for this case and has yet to be explained how a "Self-Defense" situation has excellerated to the point of him now being threatened with more than a decade in state prison. "The last email I received from Ms. Hyde reads that she didn't even read my previous email, and that she forwarded my email to another attorney in her company declaring that the other woman is my attorney, this breeches not only their companies contract with the state making me a third party victim but also breeches my confidentiality with my court-appointed counsel and ultimately is putting me in more legal harm and consequence than I am already unjusfitiably in and suffering because of."
