ONAC Independant Branches to establish Circle Counsel of Cannabis Sacrament
It is with great pleasure that we are in the position to announce the unification from within the Independant Branches of Oklevueha Native American Church whom utalize cannabis sacrament, aka "Mother Medicine" in their healing and ceremonial practices. This unification comes in the official formation of a "Circle Counsel of Mother Medicine Sacrament."
Because in recent years, the use of cannabis as a sacrament has resulted in Oklevueha coming under the line of official fire from many angles ranging from "Indian Country" to Legal challenging authority, church leaders say that "The time has now come for us to unite together and firmly stand in defense of our individual as well as collective rights liberties and freedoms regarding our sacraments."
With the formal blessing from James Mooney himself as of December of last year, leaders of ONAC Independant Branches were joined with the goal of establishing a Circle Counsel within the church regarding the sacred sacrament Cannabis.
12 seats were established as being "The Board" for the circle, and seats were filled, but due to the then current legal counsel retained by the Mother Church, the development halted. Now because of the new legal counsels position, the circle wishes it known that they are reinitiating their efforts in getting the circle up and functioning so to best benefit the branches and members who desperately need it in effect. More seats may be added in as deemed necessary by the circle as it expands and proves beneficial to consider so.
Their first official meeting is scheduled telephonically on the 20th of October 2016. It is scheduled to begin at 7 o'clock Pm Pacific Time, and alotted a minimum of one hour in duration. From this meeting, a meeting will be held in the same way monthly, meaning it will be on the same date (the 20th of each month) and will commense at the same time (7Pm Pacific Time.) This meeting will be open to ALL Oklevueha Members and will remain specifically geared toward issues encompassing the use of Mother Medicine (Cannabis) sacraments.
