James Mooney requests to rep Oregon Federal Injunction!
It is with great surprise that an email was received by KM Spiritual Leader Joy Graves from none other than James 'Flaming Eagle' Mooney requesting that he personally "If there is a way that I can be ONAC Legal Representative" and added "I believe with the right guidance I could be successful in this stand."
In the correspondence Mooney notes that he is "Not an attorney nor trained on how to argue these issues in a court of law" but he states "Based on what a multitude of attorney's have shared with me,, I know more about the legal issues surrounding ONAC, than anyone else" and says that "two of these attorney's were federal attorney's."
So it is clearly understood for all interested persons, so long as the injunction remains without a representing legal counsel, the plaintiff's are expected To represent their cases in court themselves, hence the term "Pro Se" which tells the court and all parties encompassing that the plaintiff IS representing the case as the attorney. Per James Mooney''s request, Oklevueha Native American Church was listed as primary plaintiff on the injunction. Also, his name was personally listed as Being the representing plaintiff for and on the behalf of Oklevueha Native American Church.
Since this is the first communication between the two direct church heads representing this case for their churches it is possible that Mooney has not clearly understood that it was why the court had requested he fill out a Pro Se on behalf of his position in the injunction was concerned, it was relayed to him through indirect sources. We hope that now he will be apprised to that as Graves has responded back to him letting him know that as well as her appreciation for his willingness to get this accomplished and to at least be ready to step Forward and actually defend the case with us.
Hopefully this step Will prove to be leading to brighter pastures for all members of both these as well as all other Native American Churches in regards to this type of situation in times to come, which IS one step closer to complete liberation for we and our beloved plant and earth based indigenous medicines!
