Moral Compass Code of Ethical Conduct Standards

Purpose of Service Offerings

Counseling is a general practice and health service providing specialty in focus in the whole of health. It focuses on how people function both personally and in their relationships at all ages, stages and phases of everyday life. Counseling addresses the spiritual, emotional, physical, individual, social, work, school and physical health concerns people may have at different stages in their lives, focusing on typical life stresses and more severe issues with which people may struggle as individuals and as a part of families, groups and organizations.

Counseling helps people with spiritual as well as physical, emotional and mental health issues by providing them a personalized support system geared to help improve their sense of well‐being, alleviate feelings of distress and resolve crises issues and situations if and as they arise. They also provide assessment, diagnosis, and suggested treatment of more severe psychological symptoms and consistently strives to acquire and provide resources needed as they are available for people as they arise.

As a church such as KM, we are honored in our abilities and resource options to provide Counseling Service opportunities to and for our members as well as to expand our offering abilities to our communities as an act of Community Service with the hope of better benefiting the whole of life within the earthly web of creation as a whole.

Focus of Service Offerings

Clients served by KM counseling service offerings include individuals, groups (including couples and families) and organizations. Counseling providers work with individual clients of all ages, such as children who have behavioral problems; late adolescents with educational and career concerns or substance abuse problems; adults facing marital or family difficulties, career changes, combat service impact, and/or overcoming disabilities;

We also focus especially on providing service and support to youth, military and combat veterans,and older adults facing retirement, disability and end of life issues. They work with groups to assist them in finding solutions to many of these same problems, as well as to improve the personal and interpersonal functioning of group members.

Counseling providers also consult with organizations (e.g., businesses such as support groups, mental health counselor and therapist providers) and work groups to help provide a beneficially flowing home and work environment in which people can succeed, and to enhance the ability of organizations to increase productivity and effectiveness.

Purpose of Service Provider

Counselors offer guidance to individuals, couples, families and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. • Develop therapeutic processes

  • Refer clients to psychologists and other services

  • Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to mental health care
