Welcome to Kautantowit's Mecautea's (KM's) Warrior Circle!

We would like at this time to share with you what this circle is all about in the hopes that you might be spiritually moved to join us in it.

Let us begin by reflecting upon our own Oklevueha Native American Church independant branches name is... Kautantowit's Mecautea. For those of you whom do not know, this is in the language of ninnigret text, or as the federal government refers to them, the "Federally recognized Narragansett Tribe" of Rhode Island "USA".

Kautantowit is the tribes word for "Great Creator"... "God" if we were to paralyll it to the "Christian" terminology. Now, onto the second word of our independant tribal branch... Mecautea. Mecautea means "Warrior Soldiers who fight off evil and the enemy." When you put the two together, it clearly states our position once you comprehend the meaning of the name... our branch Is the warrior soldier branch of Great Creators that are to fight off evil and the enemy... period.

So then the question comes... "Who is the enemy" in which Kautantowit's Mecautea is to "fight off"? It's a simple answer again found clearly within the name... we are Great Creator's warrior soldiers, and, we are to fight off evil and Great Creator's Enemies. Who would that be you ask? Any who willingly Choose to stand against Great Creator and Creator's Creations, that's who... those who stand against the way Great Creator willed things to be run and done, those plundering Mother Earth and disregarding the merit and value of Creator's living creations, upon and including Mother Earth.

Oklevueha Native American Church, is a spiritual based organization foundationed upon the protection of each persons individual birth right inheritance to the land... first, the land that each are physically born upon, and then too, to Mother Eath as the whole which in turn makes and keeps us whole.

Though Oklevueha Native American Church is in fact "Rooted To" the foundations of what's deemed "The America's", we are not Bound To nor in a position to where we have to limit nor restrict Whom can become a valid member in good standing of Oklevueha Native American Church.Oklevueha does in fact have members in good standing of ONAC whom live and in fact have never left the continents beyond our own. We do not believe that spirituality is something that should be limited to, especially by a mere strand of the web that makes up the whole of "Life" as Creator made it to be.

Catholicism for example, is not limited to the boundaries of Italy is it? So why then should Oklevueha be bound to such a border. There's a legal protection which Okllevueha reminds people of a lot, and thats what's known as "The Color of Law", which in lamens terms means "What's good for the goose is good for the gander"... it IS the law use in attempt to govern this land, and that IS the bottom line at the end of each passing day.

You see, the reason that we are more and more finding it important to point this out and remind the people upon our land of this, is because society is functioning on traditional concepts such as "Divide and Conquer", and the system is so foundationed on these concepts that most do not even know they are blindly being led both consciously as well as subconsciously into the coarses of conquer on a daily basis. Most common are the divisions within society, from neighborhood and financial worth, aka  "class" on down to skin pigmentations grossly distorted divisions including "race" and "Religious" grouping, all which in turn creates the expectation of division and adversity, or as our granddaddies used to say "Divide and conquer" while our grandmothers would chime in and add "United we stand, but divided we fall".

A Huge "discrimination" that Oklevueha Native American Church as a whole endures almost every singel day to some level and capasity, is our open and blind acceptance of perception beyond these things... because ONAC does not "Require" a certain blood percentile of this or that nor because we don't "Only accept" persons born on "reservation land" into an "owned life", pierced in the ear and given "property ID numbers", that we are some how "Not" a "real Church", or that because we are honored as declared native born "Americans" that we are somehow "Dishonoring", or "Misrepresenting" or even "Wannabe" or are trying to "Play Indian".

What many seem to be lacking in their reasoning by taking such Ignorant conclusions as valid foundation on which to in turn attack, condemn or even try and Judge us, is the simple most basic of factual realities upon Mother Globe, which is that despite the fact that we are not born upon what's deemed "Indian Reservation Land" by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, it does not change the fact that we are in fact native Born American's, those of us who were born upon the "American Continents" per the decision of Great Creator.

One anti-ONAC voice that rose from the tribal lands went so far as to insenuate that a person's skin pigmentation is some sort of "proof" as to what deems a native born american a native American. The young woman said "Well what color does it say on Your birth certificate, I bet it says White doesn't it", as if to say that some how the word "White" would even be an approperiate terminology found on such a document, but more importantly, she believed that if it were, that it would be some sort of "proof" as to whom was born here upon the America's and who wasn't, and that is just plain ignorance as it is not logistically nor factually Possible.

What was pointed out to the young lady in response, was that all over Mother Globe, there are people born Daily with various skin pigmentations. What was said to her was that there are children born with caucasion skin pigmentation Daily upon the continent of Africa, and too that there are children born with colored skin pigmentation upon lands such as England, Germany and Scotland etc. daily as well.

If that wasn't enough logic for her, it was then pointed out that the skin pigmentations are multi-colored within the "reservation boundary births" as well, and the point was ended with a question as to whether or not all babies born within the boundaries of what they so proudly agree is "Indian Rez" noted on their birth certificates as having "Red" skin color?

Please know and understand, we take No Glory in being as direct and to the point as we are, especially we Kautantowit's Mecautea personally as our independant branch of Oklevueha, but, that sometimes, you just have to be that direct and to the point to make the point known, understood and honored for the factual bottom line reality that it is.

By NO MEANS to we mean to add to the division already found as such commonplace among the peoples born upon our land... in fact quite the contrary, we believe that this such a basic and direct acceptance approach might just prove to be that which turns around "Life" as we know it to be upon Mother Globe in a way that will bring honor and benefit to our descnedants as well as honor and pride in our ancestors and Great Creator.

We Believe that we ALL are related and that only by accepting as well as honoring each created beings importance can we attain the "Life" that Great Creator intended for each of us individually as well as globally as the whole of this of Creator's Creation.

ONAC KM's Warrior Code Of Ethics

Upon rising each morning and before retiring each night, give thanks to the Creator for the life within you and all life.  Thank the Creator for the good things and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day.  Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).

Respect is one of Thee Key essential foundational fibers which is of the upmost importance that Oklevueha Native American Church as a whole stands upon, and therefore cannot emphasize nor stress the importance of it enough, in Everything we do and srive for in our individual as well as collective days of life's progresses. At this time, we are going to clearly Define for you what it means and entails, just to be sure we are and remain clearly on the same page

Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy".  Showing respect is a basic law of life.

  • Always treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect.

Give special respect to Elders, parents, teachers, and community leaders.

Avoid hurting others physically, mentally and emotionally by words and actions.

Touch nothing that belongs to someone else without permission.

    Respect the privacy of others.

Never intrude on a person's quiet moment or personal space.  Never walk between or interrupt people who are talking.

Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, strangers or others to whom special respect is due.

Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt).

Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.

Gossip is a snake in the lodge of our people - do not fall prey to it.

Treat the earth and all her aspects as your mother. Show respect for animals, stone people and plant world. Do not pollute Mother Earth, rise up in wisdom and defend her.

Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.

Listen with your heart in courtesy to what others say.  Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea in council, it no longer belongs to you. It   belongs to the people.  Listen intently to the ideas of  others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed, freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if they are quite different from yours. The clash of ideas brings forth the spark of truth.

Once a council has decided an issue in unity, do not speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has erred, the error will be apparent to everyone in its own time.

Be truthful at all times, under all conditions.

Bring problems with others to the Elder Council.  Do not circulate these problems among the membership. Harsh words against others only serve to inflame a problem.

Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, best blankets, best part of your house, and the best service to your guests.

The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.

Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family. All the races and tribes are different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful.  Respect all of the Creator's children.

Humans are created to serve others, to their family, community, nation and the world. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget your most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.

Know those things good for your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart.

Expect Guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.

Observe moderation and balance in all things.

Eat well but not excessively.  Eat 'natural' foods given by Mother Earth - for it is what you are made from.  Do not eat what man manufactures for it is full of poison chemicals and unnatural elements.

Respect all life - especially the animal kingdom.  The Creator did not give humans dominion over animals, but rather the animals teach and guide humans.

We cannot emphasize enough that these are not "Requirements" of Oklevueha Native American Church, they are the instructions and expecttions set upon us by Great Creator, goals that daily each one of us individually have to decide to strive to personally attain. Truly understanding that will help reassure you that we do not live to kick you in the gut everytime we see or hear of you struggling to attain any of these aspects. It is not our place to do so, our place is to remind you that we are walking among you striving for the same Good Medicine "Red Road" of honor leading us to Great Creator and to the reconnection with our loved ones passed. If anything, we are here to help you along... that is our goal as Kautantowit's Mecautea "Warriors"... nothing more, but too, nothing less.
